The Tooth Fairy says...

Hello and Welcome to my blog "The Tooth Fairy Tales"!

But first, let me introduce myself. 

My name is Valentina Perrone (yes, the one in the big picture on the top!), I am currently a Ph.D. student in Forensic Sciences at Northumbria University, but also an archaeologist by nature. After graduating in Archaeology (MA) from the University of Bologna (Italy), I decided to dedicate myself to the study of the human skeleton. Once moved to the UK, I discovered my passion for teeth while graduating (again!) in Forensic Anthropology (MSc) from Bournemouth University.

Hence, the name! Since I was the only one in my class being completely fascinated by teeth, I earned the title of "Tooth Fairy" from none other than our programme leader (I still feel really honored by that, thanks a lot, Martin!).

I am currently involved with the recovery team CRICC run by Cranfield University and am also part of the amazing ForensOMICS team, which you will have the opportunity to meet in some sections of this blog!

Anyway, here I am now, taking my passion to the next level...

"The Tooth Fairy Tales" is the journal of this new adventure. Here, I'd like to share my experience as a Ph.D. student and, more specifically, as a Ph.D. student in the Forensic Sciences.
